„What is left of us...” - Report on the opening and invitation to the Palace of Art

  • 2026-04-16

In the heart of Krakow, within the walls of the historic Palace of Art, the opening of the exhibition „What remains of us...” took place. The O.V.A. Foundation is an honorary patron of this unique event, the originator and organiser of which is Danka Jaworska. The vernissage brought together art lovers, artists and friends of Lanckorona - a place which has become the spiritual and artistic axis of this exhibition.

An evening full of emotion and dialogue of the arts

The vernissage was not only a presentation of works, but above all a meeting of different sensibilities. Guests had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world where painting, sculpture and photography engage in a dialogue with poetry and music. The atmosphere of the evening, captured in our coverage, reflected the spirit of the exhibition - it was full of attentiveness to detail, reflection on the passing of time and a search for what is lasting in culture.

The exhibition, curated by Anna Ciecieręga, is a multithreaded story about the footprints humans leave behind. The title is taken from a poem Tomasz Jastrun gives the whole a deep, existential dimension, which is complemented by sounds composed by the Zbigniew Preisner.

Artists and their worlds

At the exhibition, we can admire the works of outstanding artists who were united by their common experience of Lanckorona:

  • Danka Jaworska delights in painting full of mood, where light builds up the structure of the composition and Far Eastern inspirations intertwine with European tradition.

  • Ewa Budzowska presents ceramic sculptures - synthetic forms and heads that, through their rawness and expression, become a universal sign of presence.

  • Artur Brocki in his photography, he documents the night-time face of Lanckorona and the Calvary Roads, using a masterful contrast of light and darkness.

Presence of the word Tomasz Jastrun and music Zbigniew Preisner makes the exhibition a total experience, involving all the senses.
